There are two towers sited here both dating from 1810-1812. Both have had additions built onto them once they became part of the HMS Ganges site. One was converted to a water tower, which involved adding a second storey on top and then a huge meatl water tower was added, The interior is in poor condition but the magazines remain. The seond tower was converted in 1955 to a signal tower and is better overall condition.
Constructed in 1860, this is one of two wing batteries attached to the fort. Consisting of a ditched self contained battery with gatehouse and bridge with tunnel and caponier and loop holed walls for defence, with magazines.
